George Grenville:
-George Grenville "Chancellor of the Exchequer" was the man who ruled Britain's treasury and financials
-Grenville knew that he needed to get money for Britain so he decided that the colonies would need to pay many bills.
-He was the man who introduced the Stamp Act in 1765.
-The Stamp Acts states that an individual was required to buy a stamp to prove that they had paid tax on any printed items.
-This helped the British Parliament immensely because the tax from all the printed items made the British money, although the Stamp Act was repealed a year later.
-Grenville was very keen on The Navigation Acts and was large supporter and enforcer of them, it gave more power to the admiralty courts.

Charles Townshend:
-Took over George Grenville's role as Britain's treasurer
-Regarded as the "New Chancellor of The Exchequer"
-His goal was similar to Grenville's, to make money from the colonies.
-So he Introduced The Townshend Acts which were passed by British Parliament in 1767
-The Townshend Acts were designed to collect profit from the colonists in America by putting tax on imported goods into to the colonies.
-For example, taxes were put on imported goods such as lead, glass, paper, paint, and tea.

Sam Adams:
-Sam Adams was a Tax Collector who was always in debt because he did not always turn in all the taxes he collected
-He went to Harvard and studied Latin and Greek
-He was a very strange man who managed to lose all his fathers money when he set him up in business, Bostonians considered him as a shady character.
- But most importantly he played a large role in the colonial rebellion, he was unbelievable when it came to propaganda and mob tactics.
-He was able to cleverly blame almost any incident on the British.
