The Battle of Lexington and Concord:
-April 19th, 1775 British Soldiers were sent out to capture Lexington and then Concord.
-Paul Revere a French Protestant man and colonist knew of the British movement, so he rode to warn the sons of liberty that British soldiers were marching to Lexington.
-The first gun shots of the American Revolutionary War were fired in Lexington.
-In Lexington the British had attempted to captured two important organizers of the colonial rebellion, John Hancock and Sam Adams but they had escaped.
-Moving on to Concord the British's objective was to destroy the colonists gun powder and military supplies.
-This event is referred to as the "Shot heard round the World"

The Battle of Bunker Hill:
-The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775.
-The battle was actually fought on nearby Breed hill not Bunker Hill.
-It was the most violent and bloody battle of The American Revolutionary War.
-The untrained American soldiers had to surrender because they ran out of ammunition and gun powder.
-Although the colonists were defeated they considered the battle a moral victory because they were able to withstand the British's professional soldiers in combat.
-More British soldiers were killed than American colonists were in the battle.

The Battle of Saratoga:
-The Battle of Saratoga took place on September 19th, 1777 in Saratoga, New York.
-The colonists had defeated the British in their attempt to split the colonies down the Hudson River.
-The Battle of Saratoga was when the tide turned in the war.
-Since the colonists were victorious the French were willing to become allies with the American's.
-The French helped bring the colonists financial aid along with the power of the French Navy.

The Boston Massacre:
-The Boston Massacre took place on march 7th, 1770.
-British soldiers in Boston were outside a bar being heckled by unemployed colonists.
-The colonists began to throw snowballs at the British Soldiers.
-So the Soldiers decided to let loose gun fire into the crowd of colonists killing five of them.
-This event helped stir the colonists and direct them towards the patriots mission in fighting the British rule.
